New Zealand Low Carb Ltd is a 100% New Zealand owned company. We are based in Pt Chevalier, Auckland. Owned and operated by Wetex Kang, previously a pharmacy graduate from Otago University. After Wetex left the pharmacy industry, he realised that the obesity rate in New Zealand was rising (and is still rising today) and he decided to conduct his personal research to find a solution. He found that excess sugar and carbohydrate consumption were the main causes of obesity, in contrary to the common belief that high fat consumption is the main contributing factor. In April 2004, Wetex found New Zealand Low Carb Ltd and published NZ Low Carb Lifestyle, a New Zealand guide to following a low carb lifestyle.

Our manufacturing facility is located within the suburb of Kelston, in Auckland. We manufacture a range of low carrbohydrate products, including low carb protein bars, low carb chocolate (both do not contain any intense chemical sweetener, we sweeten with ISOMALT), low carb bake mix, low carb bread mix. We also provide a range of premium quality dietary supplements to assist with general well being and weight management.

In December 2007, Wetex completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Education with a major in Guidance Studies. Today, at New Zealand Low Carb Ltd, we also offer life coaching service . Wetex recognized that obesity is a three-dimensional issue that encompasses nutritional, emotional and medical factors. All three factors have to be dealt with to ensure successful weight loss. In 2008, wetex also completed a postgraduate community nutrition paper and has also been involved with community nutrition.
